KEEP YOUR GAMEPLAY IN VIEW
Put the graphic over your gameplay.
Use a transparent overlay when a title, player introduction or subscribe prompt should appear above your footage. eMotion lets you personalise supported templates and export them with an alpha channel instead of a solid background.

Play a saved preview, then open the template to personalise it. An account and the appropriate plan are required for editing and exports.
What makes a video overlay transparent?
A transparent video has an alpha channel that tells your editor which parts of each frame to show. The graphic remains visible while the empty area lets your footage show through. This is useful for player introductions, item reveals, animated text and calls to action that belong inside a gaming video.
A dark preview background does not establish whether the export supports transparency. Check the selected template’s export options. Use the checkerboard or your editor’s preview to inspect the background and edges of the exported graphic.
Choose the right format for your editor
MP4 is a good choice for a complete clip with a background, but it does not carry transparent alpha in eMotion’s export workflow. Supported templates offer transparent WebM or MOV options. Your video editor must support the chosen format and its alpha channel.
Import a short export into your editor and place it above gameplay to confirm the result before exporting your final video. If an editor shows a solid background, check its format and alpha support rather than trying to remove the background with a colour key. Available formats and resolution depend on the template and plan.
Make overlays readable over real footage
Choose text and colours that stay readable over the part of the gameplay where the graphic will appear. Keep the most important name or value short, and leave room around the action so an overlay does not cover the moment you are explaining.
Customise the template in the browser, preview the movement, then export it and position the clip in your editing timeline. eMotion creates the graphic; your video editor controls its placement and timing within the full video.

Questions before you start
Can I export a transparent MP4?
No. Choose a supported WebM or MOV alpha export when you need transparency. MP4 exports have a background.
Does every template support transparency?
Check each template’s available export options. Support and formats vary by design.
Is this a live streaming plugin?
These are exported video clips. Add a compatible exported file to your editing workflow or to software that supports that media format.
